Our fourth day was the first day of real competition. As the day before, we met at Breck at 7:15 before driving to Williams arena. The competition started at 8:15 with the opening ceremony, where we gladly sung our national anthem. After that, the first qualification matches begun. We won the first two matches thanks to penalties from the opposing teams and our defensive strategy. At one point, we were ranked 7th out of the 63 teams, however, thanks to a combination of silly mistakes and bad odds, we failed in the other matches. We accidentally crashed the robot in the wall a couple times, which severely damaged our main hatch manipulator. Thankfully, our pit crew worked efficiently and fixed the issue. Towards the end of the day, the moral was at its low but exciting evening agenda was awaiting….
Together with the Breck team, we set off to indoor paintball arena. We had lots of fun and in some matches we played as if our lives depended on it. In other words, it got dirty at times. The last game was PORG vs Breck where we played till we all ran out of paintballs. After this, we were all extremely tired and went right to bed.
